China National Opera House, a national opera troupe attached to Ministry of Culture, was founded in 1952. Up till now, it has become a famous opera troupe with advantages in scale and competitiveness in Asia.
China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra is one of the famous opera troupes in China, which has performed several dozens of Chinese and foreign operas. Besides, it has performed many symphonies of Chinese composers and other classical music composers such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Debussy, Strawinsky, Gershwin, and Shostakovich etc. It has had successful cooperation with world well-known violinist David Oistrakh, famous tenors Pavarotti and Carreras, and famous soprano Kabae. During its visit to former Soviet Union, Japan, Finland, Singapore and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and many other countries and regions, it won high praise and wide acclaim by artists and media there.
